03/08/10 - A farewell to a friend

Every so often a person comes by that impacts your life in a way you fail to realize until they've left. Maybe you even take their presence for granted. I suppose the most I'll remember about them is that even when I was supposed to be the one telling people that things will look better in the future he was the one that made me believe it. Anytime I was struggling, or facing adversity on a particular encounter, he was the guy that would help me keep going. He had some sort of ability to tell when I was getting ready to throw in the towel, but as I was about to, he would always grab it from me, told me that no matter what giving up wasn't the answer. Even after losing a couple long time members I counted on, he was the first one to tell me that everything would turn out in the end. I was fortunate to have known him. It's a shame he was taken away from us...

Maybe that's what hurts the most. I've been around online games enough to know that people enter your circle of friends and depart at pretty close to a 1:1 ratio. But you know if you look hard enough for them that if you wished your paths could cross again. There's always that possibility that one day you'll get that tell from someone and you'll reconnect. Fallout didn't leave, he was taken. 23 days ago he was online, that was the last chance I had, I wish I made more of it.



I miss my friend.
